The Story...

This is one of my favorite guitar scratch removal stories - this was an amber gold top Les Paul with an old nitro (nitrocellulose) high gloss finish from the NAMM show in Anaheim, CA. One of our neighboring booth friends brought this guitar over to be polished. It was pretty beat up with lots of not just scratches, but gouges in the finish, from the last 30 years of solid use. Aside from that, the sparkling amber gold finish on this guitar was just amazing.

Honestly we were a little skeptical on how this guitar would clean up in front of so many people watching us do our live demonstrations. The above photo shows one of the bad areas on the top, the scratch is near the edge in top of photo, this was not only a scratch but a gouge in the finish. It was so severe you can see it even distorted the light reflection in the BEFORE photo. (The scratches in these photos have not been retouched or photo-enhanced). Normally gouges and indentations don't improve much. However this guitar finish cooperated with us, and the scratches quickly came out with the Player's Kit.  Some of the guitar finishes from yesteryear are a little softer, compared to the rock-hard poly finishes of today that our Player's Kit is formulated to restore. END RESULT: It even worked more beautifully than I could have imagined, even the gouge improved on this one. As you can see from the photo, the scratch and gouged area is almost completely restored, at least 95% better in just five minutes. You could still feel something was there but you could no longer see it. There were a couple other areas on the guitar that cleaned up in amazing fashion.     Check out the finished full shot below !   ...Keith

Below is the final product, keep in mind this is a 30+ year old guitar that had its share of scars...
